God, Little Children & Salvation

I had the opportunity to read these meaning sections today

Moroni 8:15, 17
15 For awful is the wickedness to suppose that God saveth one child because of baptism, and the other must perish because he hath no baptism.
17 And I am filled with charity, which is everlasting love; wherefore, all children are alike unto me; wherefore, I love little children with a perfect love; and they are all alike and partakers of salvation.

I read this verse today and was grateful for God's great plan of happiness, and how He has provided a way for all of His little children to enter back into His presence. Think of all the billions of God's little children who died during birth, or died in their early years from disease or starvation. He truly is merciful and full of love.

Draw Near Unto God

During my personal study today, I read this scripture:

Ether 12:12

"For if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith."

While reading this I was then reminded of another scripture:

Doctrine & Covenants 88:63

"Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."

It became clearer for me today that in order for God to manifest Himself more fully in our lives, we must first draw near unto Him, and have faith in His power to bless us, and then he will manifest Himself to us in a way that we will recognize.

Spiritual Strength

Ether 12:27

In class today, we talked about how to be successful missionaries. We read, "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."

It became clear to me that this is a formula to spiritual strength:
1) Come unto the Lord
2) Discover our weaknesses
3) Humble ourselves by understanding our need for the Lord's assistance
4) Receive Christ's grace, and have Faith in Christ
5) Be strengthened through that divine power
